Great work. We are indeed fortunate to have you as part of our team.

NBPA, National Basketbal Players Association

Dr. Flowers is a seasoned, graceful public speaker. Soft voice, calm demeanor - kept the audience involved and myself engaged. Well done. Good food for thought throughout.

2016 WIAA Coaches School

Dr. Flowers gave many tips on how to become a better mentor, to show the youth how to become motivated and want to continue to be a better athlete/person. Very successful tips!

Dr. Flowers gives valuable insight into how my athletes approach training and competition. He is a great asset to me as an Olympic and Paralympic coach. His understanding of sport and how to communicate with coaches and athletes is remarkable. I highly recommend him and his applied sport psychology training.

I wanted you to know how much we enjoyed the article about Ross and his book. Having 4 grandsons (ages: 14-18) all involved with sports, we appreciated the philosophy Ross explained in Jerry Large's article. Our son is an assistant coach for one son's football team &  another son is a highly competitive tennis player; our son in law is an assistant coach for the (High School) Varsity Soccer team and a referee for various soccer teams in the area. Both of these men will receive a copy of "Introducing Your Child to Sports" for Father's day. From my observation, it is a book that had been needed for some time.

Thank you for being there for me. You are part of my support team.

Dr. Flowers's performance in 2010 was exceptional. In addition to the
services rendered during the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, he provided
strong examples of professionalism, maturity, and patience during the prolonged and challenging issues related to the USATF transition to regain control of the Chula Vista resident program and evolution of the USATF Sport Psychology network. Dr. Flowers initiated and has secured a trusted relationship with the F.A.S.T. coach and athletes. It is a pleasure to work with Dr. Flowers and I consider it a priviledge to count him as a valuable member of our Team.

Dr. Flowers has played a key role in the introduction and development of applied sport psychology to the Trinidad & Tobago Ministry of Sport & Youth Affairs. He has committed his time and expertise to teaching T&T coaches and athletes how to maximize their abilities in order to perform under pressure.

In following up with Winter Olympic Coaches and HPDs, the feedback of Ross' performance and contibutions to the athlete's performance was consistently excellent.

2010 USOC High Performance Director

Coaches for the track and field resident program in Chula Vista have been very pleased with Dr. Flowers's work and engagement with them and their athletes. And, Dr. Flowers has continued to win the praises and confidence of the new resident head coach. Similarly, the F.A.S.T. swimming program coach as well as the Head Coach of USA Swimming have expressed very positive feedback regarding Dr. Flowers's engagements.

2010 USOC High Performance Director

If it wasn't for Dr. Ross’s expertise I wouldn't have performed as well as I did. In 2009, I had a number of challenges. Dr. Ross helped me block out and manage my life challenges, and focus on what was important to me, jumping far and making that team. Now I’m able to use what I learned from Dr. Ross to help me as an assistant track and field coach at Austin Peay State University.

Dr. Flowers has spent time with the team in Salt Lake City as well as traveling to competitions. Additionally, he has coordinated with other sport consultants in provision of services to the Short Track Team.

2009 USOC Team Leader

Out of all of the people and resources I have available to me... from coaching, to strength training, to a medical staff, to a nutritionist, down to a driver when I need to go to the airport, by far the most valuable and useful to me over the last three years I have been here has been my Sports Psychologist. Hands Down. No questions asked.

 NCAA Champion, World Championship Finalist

USA Track & Field

Dr. Flowers has been a important component of moving this program forward. I think his role is even more important as we move forward with USA Track & Field. Dr. Flowers understands both the intricacies and subtleties of Track and Field and the Chula Vista Olympic Training Center Resident program better than any other staff person.

 2008 Olympic Coach

USA Canoe & Kayak

As a member of Team USA for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games, I was fortunate enough to be able to have Dr. Flowers in my corner to perform my best when it counted. He helped me focus not on the millions of people watching or what was at stake, but on the fine details that I tried to perfect each and every day during the 4 years of training leading up to the games. His soft spoken approach helped me to stay calm and collective before I stepped to the line.

Are you a parent or coach interested in raising a healthy, balanced, happy child in sports?

"[Introducing Your Child to Sports is] An outstanding blueprint for introducing any young person to sports, as well as a great manual for parents looking for answers to questions concerning their child's desire to participate in athletics."

Jackie Joyner-Kersee, The World's Greatest Female Athlete

"Introducing Your Child to Sports answers every question a parent could face at each phase of their child's involvement in athletics, and is definitely an extremely handy parental map for navigating the way to a child's positive and rewarding athletic experience."

Apolo Anton Ohno, 8x Olympic Medalist, Speed Skating

"Who better to write this book than Dr. Ross Flowers? His experience as a star youth athlete, college All-American and team captain at UCLA, and professional athlete - combined with his advanced education, sport psychology career, and being a father of three young athletes - may make him the best person to thoughtfully instruct parents on best practices and avoidable hazards in sport. It gives me great pride to know he's written a book that's needed for the youth community.

Bob Larsen, 2004 Olympic Coach Track & Field, UCLA Head Coach Track & Field

The mental side of training is so important, and I truly believe it makes all the difference in the world. It is a process though, not only realizing the value of working on this aspect of your preparation, but also the trust and confidence that develops in the relationship you build with your Sports Psychologist over time. For me, this was huge.
